[Craaaap that is so frustrating, who the heck is this kid? But it's also true, at least partly, so... so she's going to go with it. Though, as before and probably with the next texts, whole minutes pass before she replies.]

["I'm not saying you're evil, but please don't hurt me." Ha. Does she realize how that sounds? Hollow. Hypocritical. Her so-called apology has nothing to do with whatever she claims to think about Chara and everything to do with trying to protect herself from them.

Even before they've sunk a knife into anyone in the mansion, even with the tentative truces they've offered so far, they're already exactly what they've been all along. Creepy. A danger. A threat. An anomaly.

This is a waste of time. Empty, insincere words won't sway them one way or another. Who cares about Max, anyway? Not Chara. Chara doesn't care about anything.]

I see no reason to listen to anything you have to say.

[She knows it sounds dumb. Pouring over the text before sending it, she saw how it could be taken. But it is the truth.

Never confuse art with the artist, was a lesson drilled into her early on in Blackwell Academy. Monochrome pictures - of dead birds, graves - float in her thoughts. Maybe she could never forgive that particular photographer. But did she think he was evil, even after all of the pain and death he'd caused?

No.

Though in all honesty, someone doesn't have to be evil for you to hate them.]

[Wow that... is not what she expected. Their last conversation was full of heated words and anger. That's what she thought would happen this time- accusations, threats.

But those two sentences seem much more like the childlike insecurity, even independence, of the Chara she'd gotten to know so briefly.

Max will grant that request. And she's glad that she caught a glimpse of what she hopes is Chara's... human side.

And, hopefully, that's also their safer side.]
